Paddleboarding in Mustique

Mustique in St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a haven for all types of outdoor and island-living enthusiasts—especially for those who love paddleboarding. Below, we’ve put together a few tips for getting the most out of paddleboarding during your stay in Mustique. Read on to find out more about this leisurely yet invigorating activity!

Explore the Waters of the Caribbean aboard a Paddleboard

Endeavour Bay is known for being one of the most premier locations for paddleboarding and other water-based sports for a number of reasons. First and foremost, however, they have a well-equipped watersports center that offers rentals for paddleboards, windsurfing, boogie boarding, snorkeling, and more.

Additionally, if you don’t feel like sticking around Endeavour Bay and would instead like to explore more of the island, you can have your rental equipment dropped off at one of the other beaches on the island. Other beaches in the southwestern region of the island are ideal for paddleboarding, such as Gelliceaux Beach and Lagoon Beach. These beaches enjoy calmer waters than their northeastern counterparts, making them well-suited for paddleboarding, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, and other water-based sports.

Of these two beaches, Lagoon Beach is particularly renowned for its paddleboarding conditions. Its shallow waters are great for paddling (as well as swimming, if you fall off of your board or decide you don’t want to paddle anymore), and its secluded atmosphere make for a pristine paddleboard outing.

The soft white sands on the beach itself are crystalline, and it’s a family-friendly environment for young children overall. Plan a picnic here with your guests as well using one of the many huts with grass-thatched roofs; there are never crowds with which to compete for space or privacy, and the deserted nature of the beach will make you and your guests feel as if you have the whole island to yourself.

A word of note about Lagoon Beach: make sure to bring bug spray and sunscreen with you. During the day, the sun beats down with little to no shade to block it. And around 4:00pm each night, the gnats come out to enjoy the vibrant sunset with locals and visitors.
